If your certificate of insurance has lapsed, you may reinstate your certificate within 180 days after your premium due date and before the expiry date of your certificate by contacting AIA Online Customer Service via e-mail at my.aiaonline@aia.com during the operating hours (8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. on Mon to Thu, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Fri, excluding public holidays), subject to the following:
- You are within the allowable age limits at the time of reinstatement;
- You have to produce evidence of insurability that is satisfactory to us;
- You have to pay all overdue premiums; and
- Any other terms and conditions which AIA may impose at the time of reinstatement.
The reinstated certificate of insurance shall only cover loss or the insured event which occurs after the reinstatement date and after the applicable waiting period.
If you do not apply for reinstatement within the 180 days, you will not be allowed to reinstate your certificate of insurance anymore and you need to repurchase a new coverage from Touch ‘n Go eWallet application. Please note that it may not be advantageous to have a break in continuity of the insurance coverage as you will be subject to re-underwriting with the 3 health questionnaires, coverage age limit for new purchase, full waiting period and the applicable pre-existing conditions.
