Sometimes, your Travel eSIM might fail to activate due to incorrect device settings. To ensure that the failure to activate is not due to incorrect device settings, please perform the following checks:
Firstly, ensure that your Travel eSIM is not removed from your device. Once removed, you will be unable to reinstall using the same eSIM.
Next, confirm if you are at your travel location. Your Travel eSIM will only activate when you have reached your travel destination.
Please enable (ONLY FOR YOUR ESIM, AND NOT YOUR MAIN LINE):
1. Mobile data (Mobile data is TURNED ON)
2. Data roaming (Data roaming for the eSIM is turned ON, NOT the main line)
3. Select your APN (Access Point Network) for the particular eSIM and manually add “<to get list from Airalo>” as your APN. Here’s how you can navigate your APN settings:
Android | iOS |
Open Settings >> Go to "Network & Internet" OR "Connections" >> Tap on "Mobile Network" OR "SIM & Network" >> Select "Access Point Names" >> Edit APN settings. | Open Settings >> Go to "Cellular" OR "Mobile Data" >> Tap on “Data plans (or Cellular Plans, or SIMs)" >> Select "Cellular Network" OR "Mobile Data Network" >> Edit APN settings. Ensure that both fields “Cellular / Mobile Data” and “LTE setup” are filled. |
If still unsuccessful, you may use the search bar in your settings and search for “APN” or “Access Point Network”.
