TNG eWallet Types — Balance & Transaction Limits FAQ
Q1: What eWallet types are available?
A1: There are three eWallet types on TNG eWallet:
- Lite eWallet
- UNHCR/Tourist eWallet
- Premium eWallet
Each type has its own maximum balance and usage limits.
Q2: What's the maximum balance for each eWallet type?
A2: This is the maximum amount you can hold in your TNG eWallet at any time:
- Lite eWallet: up to RM200
- UNHCR/Tourist eWallet: up to RM5,000
- Premium eWallet: up to RM20,000
Once you reach your maximum balance, you won't be able to receive additional money until you reduce your balance.
Q3: What is my monthly transaction limit?
A3: Your monthly transaction limit is the total amount you can spend or transfer within a calendar month:
- Lite eWallet: up to RM2,000/month
- UNHCR/Tourist eWallet: up to RM5,000/month
- Premium eWallet: up to RM120,000/month
Transportation transactions (e.g. RFID/PayDirect) are not included in this monthly limit.
Q4: Is there an annual transaction limit?
A4: Yes. This is your total usage limit across any 12-month period:
- Lite eWallet: up to RM24,000/year
- UNHCR/Tourist eWallet: up to RM60,000/year
- Premium eWallet: up to RM600,000/year
All TNG eWallet transactions, including payments, transfers, and transportation, count toward this limit.
Q5: Can I transfer money out with my TNG eWallet type?
A5:
- Lite eWallet: cannot transfer money out
- UNHCR/Tourist eWallet: can transfer money out
- Premium eWallet: can transfer money out
Q6: Can I receive money into my eWallet?
A6:
- Lite eWallet: can receive money
- UNHCR/Tourist eWallet: can receive money
- Premium eWallet: can receive money
Q7: Does transportation count toward my eWallet limits?
A7: There's no monthly limit on transportation transactions, but they are included in your annual limit.
Q8: What happens if I reach my balance limit?
A8: If you reach your maximum balance:
- You won't be able to receive any further money
- You can still make payments (all types) or transfer money out (UNHCR/Tourist and Premium eWallet only — Lite eWallet cannot transfer out at any time)
- You'll need to reduce your balance (e.g. by spending or transferring out, where applicable) before you can receive more money
